What a pallet is in numbers
25 kg bags: 40 to a pallet, about 1,000 kg. 50 kg bags: 24 to a pallet, about 1,200 kg. A pallet is loaded and unloaded in minutes; loose bags are handled one at a time.
When to take pallets
- Consumption from a tonne a month on a single item.
- You have the storage space and can receive with a forklift or pallet truck.
- A settled recipe: one batch covers the whole volume, so the dough behaves the same throughout.
When to take loose bags
- A small site, limited storage, high humidity in the room.
- Several grades at once and modest volumes of each.
- You need frequent deliveries in small lots — that is work for a city van, not a long-haul truck.
In practice
A hybrid is often optimal: the base grade on a pallet once a month, the upper grade and bran in bags on a regular round. We work this profile out together with the customer on the first order — it is a one-off exercise that saves money every month.
